A spectacular journey through the Cinecittà Studios to discover the secrets of the movies.

Cinecittà Shows Off traces the history of Cinecittà: scenes, costumes, sets and personalities – actors, directors, producers – that have passed through, what has been defined as, the "Factory of dreams".

Cinecittà has forever been the place where the immaterial becomes ‘real’ and where writers and professionals have an opportunity to express themselves. They arrive with a screenplay and leave with a finished movie. All of this is down to the theatres and the workshops where the entire production process of a film takes place. Above all it is thanks to the expertise and professionalism of those who work in Cinecittà.
The exhibition trail will take you through every specific stage involved in the making of movies, from screenwriting to post-production, tracing the roles and professions of those involved in the creation of the finished work.
The Costumes room is the place to admire the talents of costume designers and makers whilst in the Sets room you can witness the inventiveness and ability of set designers and craftsmen and women.

But with its Cinechildren section, Cinecittà Shows Off is also the place where younger visitors can try different things out, play and have fun.
In addition to the exhibition and in order to further enrich your cultural experience, Cinecittà also offers a guided tour of the structures and permanent sets.

Once you walk through that gate that separates the real world from the land of wonders, you will feel as though you are spending time with a legend. And when you leave you will understand totally why it is called the Factory of Dreams!

“EVEREST” DIRECTOR AND CAST LEAVE LASTING IMPRINT AT CINECITTÁ STUDIOS

The much anticipated drama, “Everest,” celebrated a successful location shoot at Cinecittá Studios with a ceremony in which the director Baltasar Kormákur and two of the stars, Josh Brolin and Jason Clark, left their handprints in cement.

Based on the tragic events of 1996 when eight climbers lost their lives while attempting to scale Mt. Everest in the face of devastating snowstorms, the film utilized Cinecittá’s enormous outdoor tank set as Everest’s sprawling base camp where thrill seekers from all over the world prepared to climb the world’s highest mountain.
